Commenting on a visit to Chester Zoo on Friday 12th July 2024, Cllr Simon Eardley said:
"It was fantastic visit to Chester Zoo last week alongside the Conservative Environment Network. Much of the Zoo sits within the Saughall and Mollington Ward of Cheshire West and Chester Council which I represent. It is without question a place we can be proud of on many levels locally for the impact they make way beyond this area. Their inspirational conservation work, is of national and international importance - from Sumatran tigers to black poplar trees to Bermudan snails. All right here on our doorstep in #Chester.
Their work with plants - orchids and cacti especially - was a real eye opener! Again, it is of national importance given the collections they hold. Read more here: https://www.chesterzoo.org/our-zoo/plants-and-gardens/
I am proud to be a member of the Conservative Environment Network as a councillor. Championing the environment and working to encourage a strong Conservative emphasis on this vitally important policy focus is something I am passionate about and work to deliver at a practical and local level here in the borough."
